Calling all Craftivists and Future Craftivists!
I got a commission I wasn't expecting and I've decided to reinvest it into the community and support the development of a new craftivism project (and see what can come of this little adventure).
This is open to anyone in the US with a great idea and the tenacity to get it done. I want the application to be as easy as possible, but I also want to push folks to think about their project through a craftivist lens. While I am a fiber artist, this is open to all mediums and approaches.
Timeline:
Application Opens 10/15 - TODAY!
Zoom Q+A Session 10/22 from 6-7pm ET
Application Closes 12/15 at 5pm ET
Winner Announced 1/1/22
Winner will receive $500 and 10 hours of my time as a strategic advisor.
Winner must submit a blog post report at the end of the project or end of the year (whichever comes first).
Things I’ll be considering…
What is the change you are trying to create?
Does the project directly impact the issue you are addressing?
Can you measure impact?
Who do you need on your team to get it done?
Is it creative, clever, powerful, innovative, actionable, realistic?
You can submit questions to BadassHerstory@gmail.com until 10/21 at midnight. I will address them at the live Zoom Q+A Session. I will not answer questions outside of that time. I will record the session and post it on my site for folks who cannot attend.
I can’t wait to see what you come up and then support you on your adventure!

Activist Coaching Scholarship
If you’ve been wanting some coaching but didn’t have the money here is a chance.
Last week, in a lovely act of generosity, Omkari Williams was given money to support scholarships for people who would like coaching on activism/life but don’t have the means to afford it.
From 10/14/21 — 10/19/21 anyone who would like coaching and would qualify for her first price point (you can find that here: https://www.omkariwilliams.com/coaching-teaching) should just send her an email at info@omkariwilliams.com.
Please put “ENTER ME” in the subject line.
You don’t need to explain why you qualify or explain anything, actually. Just let her know you’re interested and on 10/20/21 she will randomly choose 4 people for coaching sessions.
She will email those chosen and ya’ll go from there.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!
November is all about Philly + Boston!
If you are in Philadelphia or the surrounding area then I sure hope to see you at the opening weekend of Craftivism: Activism through Craft at the National Liberty Museum!
The show will feature over 250 pieces of my work AND over 100 pieces from Badass Herstory! The weekend will be a rocking good time and full of fabulous fun.
Here’s the details: https://www.libertymuseum.org/exhibitions/craftivism/
Boston folks - I’ll be planning something fun while I’m in town so stay tuned OR if you have ideas hit me up. Admittedly, I’ll be helping my mum recover a bit from a knee replacement but she has assured me that stitching must happen while I’m there. She’s good like that.

and for fun…check out these man nuts I bought.
I ate them with no adverse effects thus far.
